 Mr. Hossein Kazemihamed: Weaver, Designer and Darner,Chief producer of
the memorial Persian carpet project for the World Cup of South Africa 2010,
and the past World Cups of France, Korea/Japan, and Germany.
Mr. Kazemihamed learned about carpet weaving and darning as a child. His father ran a carpet factory in Tabriz City, East Azarbayejan. He later inherited the factory and succeeded his father, entering the business of carpet production.
Mr. Kazemihamed applied the highest standards he had learned and mastered
into the making of the first memorial carpet for the World Cup of France in 1998. He hired and directed a team of highly skilled designers and
weavers. This unique work of art was regarded as one of his finest works
to date.The very same strict standards and attention to quality went into the making of the memorial carpets for the World Cup Korea/Japan and Germany held in 2002 and 2006. This time, Mr. Kazemihamed created the design and actively took part in the weaving itself. All three carpets won the highest awards for “most valuable carpets” from the Tehran Carpet Guild Union and the Iranian Government commended Mr. Kazemihamed for his high level of craftsmanship. The memorial carpets for the World Cup of Korea/Japan and of Germany drew the attention of the media when they were exhibited in Japan. Thousands came to see the displays. Mr. Kazemihamed is now applying the same commitment to quality in the making of the memorial Persian carpet for the World Cup of South Africa 2010. Mr. Kazemihamed’s mastery and especially his delicate weaving technique guarantee that this carpet will also be acclaimed as a unique and exquisite work of art. Present affiliation: Sun Ai Company
