The concept for this carpet is by one of Iran’s most famous designers, Mr.Gholam-HossainBadighalam (Khiabani).
The carpet was woven by a group of the most advanced weavers in Tabriz,
applying the highest standards in dyeing techniques and choosing threads
under the supervision of Mr. Kazemihamed.

Flanking the carpet on either side are the national flags of the participating
teams. The World Cup trophy appears left of centre and the Eiffel Tower
representing France to the right. The doves, which symbolize peace, were
added at Mr. Kazemihamed’s request.

The total number of days needed to produce this carpet was 120 days with
6 craftsmen working around the clock.
The finished carpet drew rave reviews not only by the people of Tabriz
but also by fellow citizens around the country. Mr. Kazemihamed was awarded
a letter of appreciation by the Iran Association of Sports.
This carpet is now in possession of Mr. Zinedine Zidane, Team Captain of
France, Winner of the World Cup 1998, by arrangement with then-FIFA President, Mr.
Joăo Havelange.
